AnimSchool's Scout

Some images of AnimSchool's new character Scout. He looks great and adds a new level of creativity to the school. As always with Dave Gallagher, Scout looks really appealing and I know from interviewing that he always strives to hit the appeal bar.

A couple of quotes from the AnimSchool Blog:

He gives some great insight to his process and the where the school is now.

Acting Notes: JP Sans nuggets on Character Performance

I believe this is the 2nd snippet from JP Sans(aka Juan Pablo Sans) over at the AnimSchool Blog. I watch it a couple of times because there are some great tips on really plusing up your characters performance. Lots of good details that you see from a polish pass. Of course it starts with good planning and blocking but this shows you some great insight to JP's thought process in the polish phase.

Looks like AnimSchool has released a new rig for the school. A female this time named Marnie. She looks super appealing and I think compliments Malcolm which is really important. I bet like the Malcolm Rig she is fun to use and really flexible.

Free Rig: Malcolm Rig

Some might know already and some have not yet heard but the Malcolm Rig is now FREE and available both in SoftImage and Maya. I've been messing around with it and MAN...I haven't even had time to get into all the goodies of this rig. He is super appealing and I believe that's what Dave Gallagher wanted. I've heard him say that it has been his passion and dream to release a free rig like this that has all of this AMAZING capabilities. So head on over to the AnimSchool site and you see the Malcolm Image or just click here. He has also put up a forums page where you can give feedback and receive tips on the rig and it's already up and running. Also check out the "How To" video for Malcolm. It should explain most stuff. It's in the forum section or over on YouTube.

Don't forget to go to the Download Agreement and then you'll be all set.
