There are so many free rigs out there and everyone seems to just post them without actually trying or testing them. I just tested these rigs myself and the Body Mechanics Rigs are an impressive collection for teaching, learning and basic body mechanics work.
The Body Mechanics Rigs by Joe Daniel have only one issue I can find... the default spine. If you select all of the controls and try to rotate the default spine, the shape is broken. My advice: turn on the FK spine and work from there and you can create appealing pleasing shapes. Quickly creating pleasing shapes is very important when teaching or just learning how to pose a CG character.
