Anifest Animation Festival - now looking for student films

Canterbury Anifest is welcoming student short films. Deadline: 30 August 2013

The Canterbury Anifest 2013 competition is now open to entries from student film-makers.  Canterbury Anifest is looking to uncover new talent, and to "give students a platform from which to launch themselves into the industry". Their competition category, “Best Up and Coming Talent” aims to "celebrate the high quality creativity emerging from Britain’s Universities".

So don't delay! Enter your animated short films now - the deadline is 30th August 2013.

Who's coming? According to Anifest, last year’s event played host to representatives from Dreamworks, Aardman, Double Negative and Pixar  – each of whom gave talks throughout the festival.

They are also looking for volunteers to get involved. "Volunteering at Anifest is a fantastic chance to get involved with the festival, and to work with the festival team and guest speakers; it’s also a great addition to any CV. ".

As ever, here at Bucks we believe in entering films for festivals wherever possible. Being shortlisted is good, winning is even better. But most important of all is the discipline imposed on you by qualifying, entering, and making the grade. You'll be amazed at how you raise your game when you're in a competition. Your own work will improve, and your skills as a professional artist will increase exponentially.
